Neal Edward Mintz's Obituary
Neal Edward Mintz, age 91, died on November 8th, 2019.
Neal was a United States Army Air Corps veteran. He retired from the Naval Ordinance Station in Indian Head as the Supervisor of the Naval Power Plant after 36 years of service. Neal also went on to work at Physician’s Memorial Hospital in La Plata as an engineer and retired from there after 9 years. He loved baseball, his garden and just being outdoors. He deeply loved his family, friends and never met a stranger.
He was born in Asheville, NC which he always referred to as his home. He was the son of Edwin Jackson Mintz and Macy Mintz. Neal was predeceased by his two sons, Robert and Ed, his parents and six siblings.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years Betty; one sister Judy Rhodes, daughter Brenda Monshower and husband Al; granddaughter Kelly Ryan and husband Jim; and grandchildren Chris and Kara Mintz; great grandchildren Kayla Baker and husband Easton, Justin and Jack Ryan and Cory and Colin.
Friends will be received on Thursday, November 14, 2019 from 11AM until Funeral Service at 12 PM at Raymonds Funeral Service Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646.
