Nelda J. Brooks' Obituary
Nelda Jane Brooks, of La Plata, MD, stepped into Heaven on Thursday, August 29, 2019, at her home.
She was born in Chelsea, AL, on August 31, 1928, to the late Hosea and Myrtle Holcombe. She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 30 years, William M. Brooks, and her son-in-law, Ed Morgan. She is survived by her loving daughters: Lisa Morgan and Dawn Brooks; 2 sisters: Dana Moore and Jo Moore, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was an active member of Independent Baptist Church in Clinton, MD. She loved the Lord, was a prayer warrior, and loved entertaining people and cooking. She also loved to play games, watch game shows, and work crossword puzzles.
The family will receive friends from 10-11am on September 3, 2019 at Independent Baptist Church in Clinton, MD, with the funeral service afterward. Pastor Mike Creed will officiate. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Waldorf, MD.
