Norma Jean Weightman's Obituary
Norma Jean (Brown) Weightman, 70, of Mechanicsville, Maryland, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on October 11, 1952 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Raymond L. Brown and Irene L. Brown. Norma Jean worked at Giant Food for almost 20 years. She left after the passing of her parents. Then later she started to drive a school bus for Charles County Schools with Keller Transportation Company. Through the years, Norma Jean found a love for teas and started her own Tea Room in her parents’ historic home in La Plata. She conducted many events for family, friends, and a variety of companies. She loved her family and friends dearly and always loved to cut up to make people laugh. She will truly be missed!
In addition to her parents, Norma Jean was preceded in death by her sister Donna Rae Gartland.
She is survived by her daughter Heather Hammett and her husband Brian; grandchildren Garrett, Alana, and Braelyn; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 from time until 9AM of service at 11AM at Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646.
Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman-Beantown Road, Waldorf, Maryland 20601. Pallbearers are Brian Hammett, Garrett Thomas, Peter Mechlin, Robert Mechlin, Doug Duvall, and Scott Thomas.
