Norman Terry Childress' Obituary
Norman T. Childress of Ocean City, Maryland passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at the age of 76. Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Myrtle; and sister, Carol Remmel. He is survived by his brother, Warren Childress, Jr.; niece, Carey Helmes (her husband, Raik and son, Rylan); his nephew, Todd Remmel (his wife, Becky and son, Kai); and his cousins, Steve Collins and Nancy Parrish.
Norman worked for many years at Jolly Rogers Amusement Park, where his laughter was contagious and his spirit of being a child forever was truly evident. Later in life, Norman worked at Food Lion grocery store for 19 years, eagerly helping customers, whom he considered all to be his friends. Norman took pride in the smaller more simpler concepts of life, and when he wasn't working he enjoyed fishing, playing softball, watching sports or simply riding his bike around his beach town.
Norman was always telling jokes and stories, keeping the family informed of the changes happening in his town. His laughter would undoubtedly always trump whatever challenge life threw his way. Norman was loved by all and will be missed dearly.
A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of his memory to the American Cancer Society.
