Mr. Raymond W. Armbrester's Obituary
Ray Armbrester was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He never met a stranger and treated everyone as family. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Ray was a hero to many and remained strong until the end on April 30, 2021 at age 79.
He was born to Ted and Eva Armbrester on August 7, 1941 in Berkley County, West Virgina. After moving to Maryland, he met his wife, Christine. They were married for 46 years. Together, they had 7 children: Kenny Armbrester (Jenna), Rhonda Armbrester (Allan), Holly Armbrester, Glenn Jameson, Gary Jameson (Beth), Mike Jameson, and Wayne Jameson.
Ray loved hunting, fishing, gardening, canning, creating delicious meals, baking his famous rolls, and playing cards with family and friends. He was an expert boiler maker, skilled leader, and a member of Local Lodge 193. He forged many lifelong friendships during his career as a Mechanic Maintenance Supervisor at Pepco.
He was a proud Grandad and Pappy to 9 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren with two set to arrive this Summer, and 2 great great grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by brothers Paul and Doug Armbrester and survived by his siblings, Mary Schottroff, Phyllis Perrell (Leroy), and Jimmy Armbrester (Rhonda).
Pallbearers will be Kenny Armbrester, Doug Armbrester, Jimmy Armbrester, Rick Perrell, Glenn Jameson, and Gary Jameson. Honorary Pallbearers will be various family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10:00am until time of service at 12:00pm on Wednesday, May 5th at the Moose Lodge in White Plains, MD. Interment will follow at Trinity Gardens at 1:15pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Heart Association and/or American Cancer Society on his behalf.
