Raymond Talmadge O'Quinn's Obituary
Raymond Talmadge O’Quinn, 91, of Waldorf, Maryland, passed away on March 18, 2023 at his daughter’s residence in Denver, North Carolina.
Born on December 3, 1931 in Folkston, Georgia, he was the son of the late Henry Lester O’Quinn and Maggie D. O’Quinn. Raymond served over 20 years in the U. S. Navy during the Korean before being Honorably Discharged in 1967. He enjoyed bowling in leagues and with his family and was an avid Washington Redskins fan. Raymond was a member of the American Legion and attended the Calvary United Methodist Church in Waldorf.
In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his wife Mary Aline O’Quinn; sisters Myrtle, Avie, Ruth, and Shirley; brothers George, Clarence, and Robert; son-in-law Robert Shaw.
Raymond is survived by his daughter Joanne Shaw; son Larry O’Quinn and his wife Barney; eight grandchildren (Jason, Michael, Christopher, Jeremy, Julee, Ricky, Jeffrey, Perry); 12 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held on Monday, March 27, 2023 from 10:30AM until time of service at 11:30AM at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646. Interment to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf. Pallbearers are Raymond’s grandsons, Jason, Michael, Christopher, Jeremy, Jeffrey, and Ricky.
Memorial contributions may be made in Raymond’s name to American Cancer Society and Diabetes Foundation.
