RICHARD ALLEN ALDRIDGE's Obituary
Richard “Dick” Allen Aldridge passed away on January 19, 2026, in Charlotte Hall, Maryland. He was born on August 18, 1945, in Kansas City, Missouri, to the late Orville and Patricia Aldridge.
In his younger years, Dick proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his military service, he dedicated many years of his professional life to the world of information technology, retiring as IT Director with the Charles County Government.
Dick was a man of strong Christian faith. His greatest joy in life was his wife, family, and his grandchildren. Family gatherings were his happy place, where there was always laughter and jokes to be found. A few of the other things he enjoyed included fellowship, camping, fishing, and eating crabs. He prided himself on his many years as a Commander in Royal Rangers, teaching boys and young men the value of faith, commitment, and dedication. His faith, service, and steady presence were central to the life he shared with family and friends.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Skip Aldridge, and his grandson, Kristopher Gray.
Dick is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Eve Aldridge; his children, Joseph Higgs (Pamela) of North Carolina,, Wendy Tippett (Tom) of Leonardtown, Terie Perez (Greg) of King George VA, and Rick Aldridge (Kelly) of Florida and Trish Linder (John) of Ohio; and his sisters, Susan Wilshusan (John) of Texas and Tammy Valkonen of Colorado.
He is also survived by his grandchildren: Kevin Gray, Kimberly Johnson, Heather Higgins, Joey Higgs III, Jessica Ginnow, Gregory Perez Jr., Justin Perez, Sarah Bescanson, Joey Bescanson, Isabella Lindner, Ricky Aldridge III, Nicole Caratozzolo, and Chelsea Pfarr; as well as 17 great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Living Word Community Church, 39371 Harpers Corner Rd, Mechanicsville, MD 20659. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm.
A repass will be held at Living Word Community Church, the same location as the funeral service.
