Robert Jakob Walls Sr.'s Obituary
Robert Jakob Walls, Sr., 73, of Brandywine, Maryland, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2022 at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata.
Born on July 25, 1949 in Frankfurt, Germany, he was the son of the late George Naylor Walls and Christa Dörr Walls. Mr. Walls was a baker and a founding family member of the original Walls Bakery in Waldorf, Maryland, started in 1968. In addition, he was a deeply Christian gentleman who enjoyed his family, watching classic television shows, professional golf tournaments, and loved his work at the bakery, taking great pride in his service to the local and traveling community.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Walls was proceeded in death by brothers George Walls, Jr, David Walls, Steven Walls, John Walls, and Donald Walls, and nephew, Michael Ray Dean Howard.
He is survived by his wife Martha O. Walls; sons Robert J. Walls, Jr., Michael J. Walls (wife, Marcia), and Mark A. Walls (wife, Jessica); daughter Cynthia L. Walls; grandchildren Khyl S. Perry and Emily Walls; sister Christine Walls; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 from 4PM to 7PM at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Ave, La Plata, MD 20646, where Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 11AM. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf, Maryland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Walls’ name to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, American Heart Association Building, Glen Allen, VA 23060 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, (Memorial and Honor Program), 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
