He met the love of his life Myrtle Belle “Nancy” Reid ne Kennedy, at church where he and she sang in the choir. When she returned from her nurse’s training in England, they were married in 1967, and eventually both migrated to the United States in 1968.
After arriving in the U.S., they lived in Washington, DC and eventually they moved to Waldorf, Maryland in St. Charles, where they bought their first home and raised their family. Rudy and Nancy made a good life with each other and together they had three children. They lived in St. Charles for 17 years and finally bought some land in Hughesville where Rudy built his wife her dream home and they would live out the rest of their lives there.
