Shirley Jean Woodward's Obituary
Shirley Jean Stinedurf Woodward, 74, of Hertford, NC, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2023 in her home where she was being cared for by family.
Mrs. Woodward was born in New Castle, PA on December 2, 1948, and was the daughter of the late Martin Earl Stinedurf and Daisy Louise Cotton Stinedurf. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Christy, and by a brother, Richard.
She retired from Edenton House. She also enjoyed membership in Snug Harbor Community Church.
Surviving is her husband of 56 years, James Richard Woodward; a daughter, Debbie Riddle (husband, Todd) of Cobb Island, MD; a son, Kevin Woodward (wife, Angela) of Hertford; a sister, Nancy Chaillet of Hertford; two brothers, David Stinedurf of Virginia Beach, VA and Marty Stinedurf of Dagsboro, DE; three granddaughters, Crystal, Jessica, and Toni; and four great-grandchildren, Madilynne, Lillian, Ricky, and Sophia.
A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, March 1, at 11:00 a.m. in Snug Harbor Community Church, and will be conducted by her pastor, the Rev. Don Carter. Friends may visit with the family Tuesday, February 28, from 5 to 7 p.m. in Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home, 1125 Harvey Point
Road, Hertford.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 8, at 2:00 p.m. in Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman-Beantown Road, Waldorf, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made either to Snug Harbor Church, P.O. Box 114, Hertford, NC 27944 or to Albemarle Home Care & Hospice, 1507 North Road Street, Suite 2, Elizabeth City, NC 27909.
