Thomas Patrick Cave's Obituary
Thomas Patrick Cave (Tom), 77, of Severna Park, MD, passed away quietly on Friday, April 22, 2022.
Tom was born September 12, 1944 in Washington, D.C. to Granville Miller Cave and Alice Catherine Conley. He and his sister Sharon grew up in Oxon Hill, MD. At age 17, Tom became an electrician’s apprentice, and continued as an electrician for 48 years before retiring as a Master Electrician in 2012. He worked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area his whole life, except for his time spent working as an electrician in the Middle East, and also working as a Baltimore City paramedic. Tom was also a volunteer paramedic with the Hughesville Rescue Squad for many years.Along with his wife at the time, Diane Sheldon, they raised their three children, Daniel Peter, Timothy Allen, and Erin Elaine in Hughesville, MD where the family attended St. Mary’s of Bryantown Catholic Church.
Tom married Donna Marie (Rogers) in 1990. They lived in LaPlata for some years, then moved to Hughesville, where they lived until recently when they moved in with Donna’s daughter and her family in Severna Park.
Tom enjoyed spending time in the garage that he built by himself in Hughesville. In that garage, he did what he loved to do, work with his hands. There he spent many years repairing lawn mowers in his spare time. He enjoyed caring for many animals, walking on the beach in Ocean City, and going out for crabs with Tyler.
He is predeceased by his grandchildren Patrick Cave and Stephanie Cave, and his sister Sharon. He is survived by his wife, Donna; children Danny (Vicki), Timmy, Erin (William), Cheryl (Doug); grandchildren Ruby, Tyler, Emma, Izzie, and Ellie; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Huntt’s Funeral Home in Waldorf on Friday, April 29, at 10:00 AM with time of prayers being at 11:00 AM. Lunch will be served at Huntt’s directly following. He will be placed in the mausoleum next to his mother, Alice, at Trinity Memorial Cemetery at a family-only gathering on Monday, May 2nd.
