TYKISHA NICOLE THOMAS's Obituary
Tykisha Nicole Thomas, age 28, of Charlotte Hall, MD is survived by her loving family.
Tykisha Nicole Thomas was born on April 25,1997, in La Plata, Maryland to her beloved mother Tammy Ruth and father James Thomas.
Tykisha was educated in the Charles County Public School System, where she earned her high school diploma. She dedicated her professional life to caring for others in the healthcare field, finding fulfillment in helping those who could not care for themselves. Her most recent employment was with the Jude House in Bel Alton, Maryland.
Tykisha was a devoted and loving mother of three precious children, Lai’Loni (6), Xavier (5), and Wynter who preceded her in death. Motherhood was her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment. Her children were the center of her world, and she made sure their lives were filled with laughter, playdates at the park, trips to Chuck E. Cheese, and countless happy memories. She loved her babies deeply and unconditionally.
Tykisha cherished her family deeply. She shared an especially close and treasured bond with her grandmother Wanda, who held Tykisha close to her heart. She was also deeply connected to her mother, Tammy. Tykisha had a loving, close-knit relationship with her Aunt Rhonda “Coochie” and she shared a special bond with Uncle Brian and her cousins Brian Jr., Jorden, Kyle, Ayr’ron Ruth, and Craig Thomas. Though no longer together, she and Lorenzo Washington, Jr., the father of her children, remained close friends and co-parents.
Known as the life of the party, Tykisha loved gathering with family and friends. She enjoyed playing pool, engaging in mind-challenging games, listening to music, and creating dance videos on social media. She loved connecting with loved ones on FaceTime just to see their smiles. Her beautiful soul, radiant smile, and contagious laughter could light up any room she entered.
Tykisha 28, of Charlotte Hall, Maryland, passed away suddenly yet peacefully on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Wynter Washington; her maternal grandfather, Melvin H. Ruth, Jr.; her paternal grandmother, Margaret Wheeler; her paternal grandfather, James Wheeler; and her uncle, Calvin “Wink” Thomas.
