Vera "Ron" Layser's Obituary
Vera "Ron" Layser, beloved wife, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2025, at the age of 95. Born in Detroit, Michigan, on December 19, 1929, Vera was the daughter of Joseph and Rose Kochish. She grew up in Detroit, where she built a life that was rich in love, family, and meaningful work.
Ron was married to Robert Layser, and together, they shared many years of happiness and companionship. A dedicated professional, she worked for Michigan Bell as a Layout Clerk for many years, earning the respect of her colleagues for her work ethic and dedication.
Ron is survived by her loving sister, Beverly Wood (John), as well as her cherished nephews, John Wood (Ann), James Wood (Laurie), and Jeff Wood (Diane). She also leaves behind her grandnieces and grandnephews, Ron Wood, Kathleen Wood (Curtis), Kyle Wood (Danielle), Tyler Wood (Hannah), and Joel Wood. Her family was the center of her life, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A devoted member of her community, Ron's kindness and grace touched many lives. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and a deep commitment to family that will never be forgotten.
