VIRGINIA D RICHARDSON's Obituary
Virginia D. Richardson, age 85, of Avenue, Maryland, formerly of Accokeek, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026 in La Plata. Virginia was known by family and friends as Daisy. She was born on May 3, 1941 in Washington, DC to the late Leonard Francis Donaldson and Victoria Gladys Jenkins. Virginia quit school after 10th grade, however, she later received her GED. Virginia worked for the Federal Government. After retirement, she spent her time reading, playing bingo, working in her yard, traveling with her children and sisters, and spending time with her family. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years Edward R. Richardson, Sr.; son Jamie C. Richardson; her parents Leonard Francis and Victoria Gladys Donaldson; sisters Louise Powell, Alice Lombardo, and Patricia Chadwick; brothers Leonard Jr., John, Charles, Walter, Thomas, and Albert Donaldson; daughter-in-law Phyllis Richardson. She is survived by her children, Nava Jo Richardson, Edward R. Richardson Jr., Kristine G. (Robert) King, and Troy L. (Britt) Richardson; sister Cynthia R. (George) Hashman; brother William L. (Cheryl) Donaldson; grandchildren Amanda (Tim) McCloskey, Samantha (Chris) Goggil, Edward (Stephanie) Richardson III, Alexandra (Devin) Stinson, Sidney (Austin) Ellis, Abigail (Gary) Bowie, Parker Richardson, Spencer (Gracey) King, Rhoderick Richardson; nine great grandchildren with one on the way. A visitation will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646 where Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3321 Mattawoman-Beantown Road, Waldorf, Maryland 20601. Memorial contributions in Virginia’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O.
