Warren Lee Hunter's Obituary
Warren Lee Hunter, 86, cherished father, grandfather, and spouse, passed peacefully on Friday, August 1, 2025, at home in Mineral, Virginia surrounded by loved ones.
Born on March 19,1939, in Rupert, West Virginia, Warren lived a full life and enjoyed spending time outdoors and playing cards but especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren. Warren served in the Air Force for four years and spent the rest of his career as a bus driver for Metro. Later, he received additional training to become a Washington, D.C. tour guide, eventually doing independent tour work for Keller Bus Service.
He is survived and will be deeply missed by his wife, Joyce Hunter; children, Terry Wayne Hunter (Nancy) and Susan Hunter Male (Kenyon); grandchildren, Rebecca, Michael, Melissa, Sarah, Emily, and Jonathan; and great-grandchildren, Charles, Benjamin, Oliver, Ada, Alex, Colton, and Eloise.
He was predeceased by his brother, Leslie Hunter.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 8 at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, MD. Pallbearers will be Terry Wayne Hunter, Michael Hunter, Jonathan Posey, Benjamin Sharpless, Charles Sharpless, and David Jones.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Louisa County Animal Shelter (17 Sacred Heart Ave., Mineral, VA 23117).
