William Francis Beech's Obituary
William Francis Beech, 82, of La Plata, Maryland, passed away on November 16, 2024, at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center. Born on February 15, 1942, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of Raymond and Beulah Beech. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Linda Joyce Beech; his parents; his brother Raymond Beech Jr.; and his sister Shirley Davis.
William is survived by his two daughters, Pamela Brown and Shana Kumbar and a sister Barbara (Bobbie) Howell. He was a proud and loving grandfather to six grandchildren: Madeline, Logan, and Alaina, children of Pamela, and Ethan, Eli, and Ean, children of Shana. He was also blessed with a great-granddaughter, Willow, and a son-in-law, Nathan Kumbar.
William proudly served in the United States Army for four years as a combat engineer, specializing as a blast and powderman, where he developed a deep sense of duty and honor. After his service, he dedicated 38 years of his life to working at Safeway, where he was known for his strong work ethic.
An avid outdoor enthusiast, William loved animals and had a special fondness for gardening. He found great peace in the beauty of nature, often spending time tending to his garden and caring for the creatures that crossed his path.
A loving husband, father, and grandfather, William was the cornerstone of his family. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and the unwavering love he showed to his loved ones. His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
A private memorial service will be held at Trinity Memorial Gardens on 25 November 2024.
William’s legacy of love, laughter, and devotion will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will remain with those who were fortunate enough to know him.
