WILLIAM ROSS STARK's Obituary
William (Billy/Bill) Ross Stark, 76, of Bryans Road, Maryland, passed away peacefully at his home on June 23, 2026. Born on June 4, 1950, in Washington, D.C., Billy was the son of the late Mamie Mae Goff Stark and Richard L. Stark. A lifelong resident of Charles County, Billy was well known throughout the community for his friendly nature, outgoing personality, and love of people. Billy worked as an independent salesman for Dyno Cat Industrial Supplies for 18 years. His deep connection to the Charles County community began at the young age of eight, when he started his first job delivering newspapers on his bicycle throughout Marbury. Through his paper route, he got to know many of the people and neighborhoods that would remain a part of his life for decades to come. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, staying involved in his community, cheering on the Washington Redskins, and watching his favorite John Wayne movies. He never met a stranger and was happiest when surrounded by those he loved. Billy is survived by his devoted partner of 39 years, Deborah Jean Carpenter; his children, Lynette “Lyn” Carol Stark and Bruce James Stark (Diana); his grandchildren, Abby Stark (Jon), Brandon Stark, Briana Stark (Kamen), Denise “Nickel” Williams, Lorie Stark, and Charles “Charlie” Stark; his brother, Richard “Dicky” E. Stark (Virginia “Ginny”); his sister, Roxanna “Rocky” Lee Stark Eller (George); his brothers-in-law, Glenn (Karen) Carpenter, Matthew (Maria) Carpenter, and Tommy Morris; his sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Carpenter and Janet Carpenter; and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his sisters, Rita Loraine Josephine Stark Boswell and Mary Etta Stark Rainey; his brothers, James “Jimmy” Bruce Stark and Paul Erwin Stark; his sister-in-law, Michelle Morris; and his brothers-in-law, Mark Carpenter and Lemuel “Brook” Carpenter. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Billy's life at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Prayers will be offered at 7:30 p.m. On Wednesday, July 1, 2026, there will be a viewing from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Interment will immediately follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman-Beantown Road, Waldorf, Maryland 20601. A repast will be held following the burial at Marbury Baptist Church, 4670 Bicknell Road, Marbury, Maryland 20658. Pallbearers: Bruce Stark, Brandon Stark, Lemuel Carpenter, Michael Carpenter, Glenn Carpenter, Jon Ramos, Kamen Savov, and David Watts. Honorary Pallbearers: Charlie Stark, Jimmy Rainey, Richie Boswell, Ricky Stark, Steven Stark, Jeff Cooksey, Kent Cooksey, Matthew Carpenter, and Greg Eaton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association, or Marbury Baptist Church to send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of William "BillyBill", please visit our floral store.
